The informal sector is a set of activities producing goods and services outside the Government’s regulations. It is simply an economic activity, which is considered by a good majority of economic thinkers as one of the pillars of any national economy and even international one. This sector is touching in a second position the activity of spare parts after the sector of textiles, the reason why the number of accidents has increased over time, seeing that this illegal circuit has become omnipresent but obscure at the same time because of the lack of information(absence of statistics).
What factors could lead to the emergence of this phenomenon? And what solutions should be adopted?
On one hand, the whole sector of the spare parts business is a contributor to this crisis, how? Because already an important disorganization of the distribution circuit has been posted and registered by the Moroccan office of the property and commercial, which explains the non existence of traceability as well as it encourages the progress of the informal activity.
On the other hand, the lack of awareness which endangers the user of the rood, has pushed the Moroccan government to take action and set up in November 2017 a system named “Salamatouna” which labels the distribution circuit of the automotive spare part to track down the counterfeits; This system aims to use this label on all the administrative and accounting documents, the packaging and the vehicles of the distributors while offering training sessions by the Training Institute for Trades of the Automotive Industry (IFMIA) and if the company imports spare parts from abroad, it will require a manufacturer’s approval.
